Sow Wen Yan

Wen Yan's passion for early intervention began with a desire to help children learn and grow through engaging and purposeful experiences. She started her career in preschools before transitioning to the social service sector, where she supported preschool-aged children with autism and other developmental needs through the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC). Through these experiences, she has come to appreciate that every child learns differently and that lasting progress is built on strong relationships and partnerships with families.

Believing that every child has unique strengths and ways of learning, Wen Yan tailors her sessions to meet each child's individual needs. She works closely with families and a multidisciplinary team to support children's development across everyday routines. Having completed formal training in the TEACCH structured teaching approach, she integrates structured teaching strategies, visual supports, and play-based learning to promote communication, independence, emotional regulation, social participation, and school readiness.

Drawing on her musical background, Wen Yan incorporates songs, rhythm, and movement into her sessions to encourage engagement, communication, and self-expression. She believes that music creates meaningful opportunities for children to connect and learn.

Wen Yan believes that early intervention is a collaborative journey. She is committed to partnering with families and fellow professionals to celebrate every milestone , empowering each child to discover their strengths, unlock their unique potential, and thrive with confidence.
